The aim of root canal treatment is to save the tooth from extraction and prevent bacterial infection from spreading to the tissues surrounding the root and the adjacent bone.
This type of treatment involves the following stages:
1. isolating the tooth from saliva, cleaning tooth decay and accessing the canals,
2. removing the dead or inflamed tissue from the pulp cavity and from the canals,
3. preparing and widening the canals using manual or mechanized files with simultaneous rinsing of the canals,
At our dental office, we use state-of-the-art equipment that facilitates this stage of the procedure, i.e. endometry iPex and Reciproc Gold system for mechanical preparation of root canals.
4. If it is required for the activation of the rinsing liquid, or removal of old fillings, we use VDW ULTRA ultrasonic generator as an auxiliary way to prepare the canals.
5. drying the canals,
6. tight filling of the canals with gutta percha with the use of 3D technology; the aim of this stage is to prevent the passage of bacteria from the centre of the tooth into the periapical tissues – for this purpose, we use BeeFill 2in1 system
7. filling the tooth with aesthetic light-cure filling materials or restoring the tooth prosthetically with a post and core and a crown.
